Yamaha P-121 specs

The P-121 is the 73-key compact member of Yamaha's P Series: the same GHS keybed, Pure CF sound engine and 192-note polyphony as the P-125, cut down to 1114 mm and 10.0 kg so it fits in a small room or a car boot. It carries 24 voices, four reverbs and the same IAC, Sound Boost and Table EQ features. Fewer keys is the only real compromise, and used units are plentiful.

Strengths

  • Only 1114 mm wide and 10.0 kg - the most portable P Series piano
  • 192-note polyphony and the Pure CF engine despite the compact body
  • 24 voices with IAC, Sound Boost and Table EQ
  • Shares the P-125's accessories and GHS keybed, so parts and pedal units are common

Weaknesses

  • 73 keys rather than 88 limits solo piano repertoire
  • No Bluetooth and no USB audio interface
  • Rated speakers are only 7 W x 2, so it is quiet without amplification
